Monday night I was assigned to cover Bearden High School in their sub-state game again Daniel Boone High School. I usually don’t get my assignments until Monday of that week and I wasn’t thinking I’d get this assignment so I had left my strobes at home.

I didn’t have much time after work to get my lights, so I decided I would just turn up my ISO and shoot available light. It’s OK on the 1D Mark III, but the 1D Mark II needs a bit more cleaning up. I can shoot almost anyway I want and still provide for the assignment, it’s just easier afterwords if I use strobes. I also made the decision that I was going to pretty much stay focused on Bearden. I stayed on whatever side Bearden was on. The game was a very physical game. Bearden took a very early lead and Daniel Boone was fighting the rest of the game to catch up. In the end, Bearden won 83-60 victory and advanced to the state tournament at MTSU. Good luck to Bearden High School.
