Tuesday night I was assigned to cover the Bearden vs Catholic baseball game.  The winner of this game would go onto to face Maryville High School in a later game.  I was only assigned the first, so I only stayed for the first game.  The game started at 5:00.  I wasn’t able to get off work in time to cover the full game, but I was able to make it by the second inning.  The game ended with Bearden winning 5-2.  They would later beat Maryville and advanced on to play Farragut the next day.

Wednesday night I was assigned to cover Farragut High School against Heritage High School in the District 4-AAA  tournament at Lenoir City High School.  I am also scheduled to go there tonight to cover the Bearden High School girls and the West High School girls as well as tomorrow night for Farragut’s game against West High School.  I suppose I’ll also be there next week as the tournament wraps up but I don’t have those assignments yet.

When I arrived, I was surprised how bright the gym was.  I was told that they have installed new lights in the past month or so.  There are also lots of power outlets that are fairly easy to get to without some crazy runs with extension cables.  I primarily focused on Farragut, since that was the assignment.  The first half, I was able to shoot them with my strobes.  The 3rd quarter, I turned off my transmitters and shot using ambient light.  Then towards the end of the third period, I went back to the half where my strobes where and shot some of Heritage.  Afterwords I thought about staying to shot Maryville High School and William Blount High School but decided that actually getting some sleep was pretty important, so I packed up and left.
