Yet another wave of storms hit. Last night was a little too dangerous to attempt a lightning photo (plus I already had a good shot for the day), I could feel the house shaking. Today was a little safer to do from my front porch.

Sunrise over Norris Dam. TVA has all three spillways open right now. It’s quite a sight to see. TVA has an automated phone line you can call to get the latest information on the river system. See http://www.tva.gov/river/lakeinfo/lake_phone.htm for more information.

Fort Dickerson is an Earthen Fort that helped to protect Knoxville during the Civil War. It is supposed to be one of the best preserved Earthen forts from the Civil War. This is a 3-in ordnance rifle, a common gun used during the Civil War.
